Temperature: minus 16 degrees Celsius at the Kitami Pass
The seasonal wind was extremely strong and from time to time, the visibility went down considerably. He thought it would be dangerous to continue the training as bikes would be difficult to be recognised by automobilists because of the low visibility. However, he continued the course because the visibility had improved a little during the climb. He used ski goggles with heating lenses on the climb as the ground blizzard was strong. He rode paying attention to cars approaching as the driver might not recognise him in this low visibility.
