Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 142
Temperature: minus 7 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
He changed the chain due to problem of connecting pin (cf. Mt.Tokachidake 141) and he uses this time a missing link instead of the connecting pin. It would resolve the problem. The road was covered with a thin layer of snow. However, beneath the snow, the road was covered with hard ice. So it was good for training. He climbed three times up to the summit repeating the interval training. The most of the training was done inside the clouds. It was colder than expected because of the supercooled water of the clouds.
