Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 94
Temperature: minus 13 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
It began to snow hard just before the start. The snow depth rapidly augmented. Because of unexpected heavy snowfall, snowploughs didn’t come. So he had to climb in difficult condition with thick fresh snow. He followed ruts and he could barely climb up to the left-handed corner at 1150m of altitude on bike. However, from this altitude, he had difficulties climbing the steep parts on bike. He had to walk for the steep parts. He tried to do the interval sprint training at the summit. But the deep snow was hindering the training. He renounced farther training and descended. During the descent, two snowploughs came.
