Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 121

Temperature: minus 1 degree Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).

Because of a depression, the temperature became high. Moreover, micro-foehn occurred and it made the temperature go up further at the oust slants of the Tokachi Mountains. Many snow drifts were formed because of strong winds. The road was covered with hard ice beneath the fresh snow. It was good for bikes equipped with studded tires but dangerous for cars. Snow drifts were forming rapidly. So it wasn’t easy to climb. After the first ascension, he descended up to the altitude of 1150 and repeated the interval training. After that, he descended up to the Fukiage Hot Springs. At this altitude, it was sleeting. He made a U-turn and climbed up to the summit and did the interval there before the descent.
