Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 120
Temperature: minus 3 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).
A depression was causing a heavy snowfall in this region. The road was covered with slippery ice beneath the thick fresh snow. Bikes equipped with studded tires were ok but for cars, this road surface condition was a nightmare. At the altitude of 1130m, there was an accident where 5 cars were involved due to slippery road surface. Passing the steep part, it became difficult to climb on the bike due to thick fresh snow. He had to walk for the steepest part on the first climb. During the first descent, a snowplough came. After the snow removal, he could train normally including the usual interval training at the summit. There was another car accident during the training.
