Temperature: minus 14 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).

Seasonal winds were strong because of a depression in the east of which the central pressure was 980hPa. The road wasn’t snow removed. Just after the beginning, a snowplough came and cleared the road of snow up to 500m of altitude. Above 500m of altitude, the road had already been cleared of snow during the night. However, it snowed significantly after the snow removal and the road was covered with fresh snow again. Above 700m of altitude, the fresh snow on the road was so muddy that it required more power to climb. He did an interval training at the summit. He met a skiers’ group composed of skiers from various countries: Britons, Americans, Australians, Frenchmen and so on. He talked with them for a while, especially with French skiers in French. They confound him with French because of his accent (He lived in a French speaking country for years). On the descent, he used the technic of inverted Y descent several times due to muddy snow.
